Currently based in Grand Rapids, Michigan with 9+ years of experience in ecommerce and full stack web development

I got my undergraduate degree in Latin, with minors in music and computer science, from Calvin College (now University) in 2016, and studying so many forms of language helped prepare me for my job at Tekton, Inc. a Grand Rapids-based hand tool company. Over the past nearly 10 years, I've helped achieve their goal of making the world's best hand tools accessible to every person, primarily through modernizing and improving tekton.com. Working with a team of developers, I helped rewrite tekton.com with a modern tech stack and utilizing a headless ecommerce platform in less than six months.

I've also contributed to other internal and external applications, including a b-to-b sales website for authorized dealers, a point-of-sale system for taking orders and payments on tool trucks or at events, and an internal app to facilitate warranty claims and other support requests.

Vesta

While I enjoy coding, I prefer to spend my free time doing screen-free things, such as singing in the Calvin Alumni Choir, tackling various craft projects (my most recent endeavor was drafting and sewing new skirts and a cloak to go with my chemise and boned bodice for a Renaissance festival), exploring all Grand Rapids has to offer, and hanging out with my family, friends, and dog Vesta.
